If gambling has stopped being fun, you can take a break or shut things down completely — quickly and without having to explain yourself. This page sets out every option, how to use it, and what happens once it takes effect.

1. Taking a Short Break (Cool-Off)

A cool-off pauses your account for a set period — 24 hours, 7 days or 30 days. During a cool-off you cannot place bets or deposit, but your account is not closed. It reopens automatically when the period ends. Set a cool-off in Account Settings → Responsible Gambling.

2. Self-Excluding from PUND123.BET

Self-exclusion closes your PUND123.BET account for a period you choose. The minimum period is 7 days and the maximum is 5 years. Available periods are:

  • 3 days
  • 7 days
  • 1 month
  • 3 months
  • 6 months
  • 1 year
  • 5 years

For a lifetime exclusion, register with BetStop, which covers all licensed Australian wagering operators.

How to self-exclude: go to Account Settings → Responsible Gambling, choose your period and confirm. The exclusion takes effect immediately upon confirmation. There is no email or support-contact route to activate self-exclusion — it is a self-service, in-account process only.

24-hour cancellation window: for the first 24 hours after activation you may cancel the self-exclusion in Account Settings if you change your mind. Once those 24 hours have elapsed the exclusion cannot be reversed or shortened until the chosen period ends.

Pending bets: any bets you have already placed at the time the exclusion takes effect are handled as follows:

  • If the event proceeds, the bet is settled normally and any winnings are paid to your verified payment method.
  • If the event is cancelled or does not take place, the bet is voided and your stake is returned.

The following steps take effect as soon as the exclusion activates:

  • Your account is closed to betting and deposits immediately.
  • Any withdrawable balance is returned to your verified payment method.
  • We take reasonable steps to prevent you opening a new account during the exclusion.

3. BetStop — National Self-Exclusion Register

BetStop is Australia's free National Self-Exclusion Register. Registering excludes you from all licensed Australian online and phone wagering operators at once, for a period from three months up to a lifetime. Licensed operators are prohibited from contacting registered individuals with marketing.

Register at betstop.gov.au.

4. Reinstatement

You cannot reopen your account before the exclusion period you chose has ended. After it ends, reinstatement is not automatic. To reinstate your account you must:

  • Actively opt in by submitting a reinstatement request through Account Settings or by contacting our support team.
  • Complete identity re-verification — you will be asked to re-confirm your identity documents before your account is reopened.
  • Allow a cooling-off period to elapse before betting resumes. We will not process any bets until that window has passed.

We may decline or delay reinstatement where we have responsible-gambling concerns about the account.

5. Sharing Your Self-Exclusion Information

When you self-exclude from PUND123.BET, we may share the relevant details with:

  • Related or associated operators where sharing is necessary to give effect to your exclusion across those services.
  • VGCCC and any other regulatory body or authority entitled to receive that information under applicable law.
  • BetStop, where your exclusion triggers or is accompanied by registration on the National Self-Exclusion Register.

Registering directly with BetStop at betstop.gov.au is the most comprehensive option: it enforces your exclusion across all licensed Australian wagering operators simultaneously. We handle any information we share in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

6. Self-Exclusion Requested by a Family Member or Third Party

We recognise that a person showing signs of gambling harm may not be in a position to self-exclude. A concerned family member, carer or other third party may submit a written request asking us to consider excluding that person from PUND123.BET.

Such requests are assessed on a case-by-case basis. When reviewing a third-party request we will:

  • Consider the information provided and any supporting evidence of gambling harm.
  • Treat the request confidentially and in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
  • Contact the account holder where it is appropriate and safe to do so.
  • Apply reasonable measures to restrict the account where the evidence of harm is compelling, even if the account holder has not consented.

To submit a third-party request, please email support@pund123.bet with the subject line Third-Party Exclusion Request. Include as much relevant information as possible; we may follow up to ask for additional supporting detail before a decision is made.

7. Marketing, Subscriptions and Promotions During Exclusion

For the full duration of your self-exclusion, PUND123.BET will:

  • Remove you from all marketing communications — including email, SMS, push notifications, in-app messages and any other direct-marketing channel.
  • Cancel your participation in any active promotional subscriptions or loyalty programmes that involve incentives to gamble.
  • Ensure you do not receive communications about running promotions or special offers from PUND123.BET or from any related operator acting on our behalf.
  • Not reinstate any promotional subscriptions automatically upon reinstatement — you must opt in to any such communications again, separately, after your account is reopened.

These restrictions apply regardless of how the exclusion was initiated (by you, or following a third-party request) and cannot be overridden by any previously granted marketing consent.

8. Other Tools and Support

Self-exclusion is one option among several. You can also set deposit, loss, wager and session limits. If you are worried about your gambling, free and confidential help is available 24/7:
